Trademark Watches

Trademarks submitted to our trademark watch services are under constant regional or global monitoring, depending on what is agreed with the client. Our international databank connections enable us to receive immediate reports about publicly announced trademark registrations that may conflict with our customers’ trademarks.

Our monitoring reports offer customers information on confusable Finnish and foreign trademarks as well as the related time limits. Monitoring is important because many registration authorities do not customarily safeguard the interest of the holder of an earlier trademark. Instead, the holder of a trademark must submit an opposition to prevent a confusingly similar trademark from being registered. The opposition period is usually only two or three months from the day the trademark registration is published.
