As an IP Assistant at our Oulu office, I need to command the whole gamut of formalities related to patents and utility models; to see the purpose of each individual piece of the puzzle and put them together to create a whole – which, however, keeps constantly evolving. Organizational skills are a prerequisite and good communication skills in different languages a must as I am in daily contact with clients, patent agencies and patent offices around the world. Time allowing, I also make use of my education and exercise my brain by doing translations of application texts and the like.
