AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING AND PROFILING - Wednesday, November 18 at 6 pm EET

Automated decision making and profiling are measures which can have a major impact on the rights of individuals. In part one of our series of webinars on privacy and data protection, we will look into particular issue relating to requirements and current practices concerning decision-making and profiling with respect to the handling of personal data by answering, inter alia, the following questions::

  • What is automated decision-making
  • What is profiling?
  • How can privacy policies address both of these issues?
PART 2

FACIAL RECOGNITION AND OTHER BIOMETRIC DATA - Wednesday, December 16 at 6 pm EET

Biometric data belong to so-called special categories of personal data which places even greater restrictions on processing such data. On the other hand, it is clear that facial recognition technology can provide significant benefits if used properly. In part two of our series of webinars on privacy and data protection, we will discuss the following questions::

  • What is biometric data?
  • How can we process such data in view of the GDPR?
  • Case Example "Utilization of facial recognition"

PART 3

SANCTIONS AND RECENT DECISIONS - Wednesday, January 13 AT 6 pm EET

In part three of our series of webinars on privacy and data protection, we will discuss recent decisions and sanctions imposed by various European data protection authorities by way of example.

  • What types of sanctions have been imposed to date pursuant to the GDPR?
  • Recent decisions of interest concerning privacy and data protection from authorities in Finland and other European countries

The speaker Suvi Julin has extensive experience on immaterial property and technology rights. Suvi counsels our clients particularly on IPR litigation and application matters relating to trademarks, designs and patents, as well as on issues relating to copyrights, and on matters relating to contracts, employment inventions and data protection.

Suvi specializes in various commercial contracts, such as ICT and licence agreements, administrative procedures and litigations, as well as in strategic issues relating to the commercialization and internationalization of products and services.
