London calling? INTA is where global brand attorneys come together

Written by Paula Sailas | 16.4.2026

Every May more than 10,000 trademark professionals from around the world gather to talk trademarks, brands and the fast‑evolving world of intellectual property. The INTA Annual Meeting is four intensive and energizing days filled with meetings, seminars, committee sessions and evening receptions, all set in inspiring surroundings.

This year, the Annual Meeting takes place in London and once again we are looking forward to a week packed with insightful discussions and, above all, meaningful encounters with colleagues and friends from across the global IP community.

Berggren is attending this year’s INTA with a particularly special mindset. Our firm is celebrating its 90th anniversary, which gives this year’s meeting an added sense of continuity, perspective and celebration. INTA has long been an important forum for building and nurturing the international relationships that are at the heart of our work, and it feels especially meaningful to do so during this milestone year.

Why INTA matters to our clients

The global IP market is competitive, and selecting the right partners in each jurisdiction is crucial. INTA enables us to continuously evaluate, strengthen and expand our international network, ensuring that our clients receive high‑quality, commercially minded trademark services wherever they operate. Face‑to‑face discussions with foreign counsel and clients create trust, efficiency and continuity. When you know who is handling your client’s trademark portfolio abroad, daily cooperation becomes smoother, faster and more strategic.

Trademark law, case law and administrative practices continue to evolve rapidly. INTA gives us direct, up‑to‑date insight into these developments, an insight that we immediately put to use for the benefit of our clients.

Our involvement in INTA’s committee works and hosting Table Topic sessions are other key advantages. Over the years, Berggren attorneys have actively contributed to several working groups and sessions. Our involvement in the Commercialization of Brands Committee includes licensing, brand valuation, distribution structures and growth strategies for SMEs, which are all highly practical topics for companies looking to turn trademarks into true business assets. Table Topic discussions hosted by our attorneys will take a closer look at the peculiarities of the EU design reform and case law, as well as the advantages of UPC proceedings, especially for non‑EU companies operating in Europe.

Not only meetings but lasting relationships

INTA days extend well beyond business hours. Informal events, receptions and city venues offer invaluable opportunities to deepen relationships in a relaxed setting. These conversations often lead to long‑standing collaborations and even friendships that support our clients’ needs over decades.

Worth it? Absolutely.

The value of INTA is clear: strong global networks, deep practical knowledge and trusted cooperation across borders. As we head to London once again, celebrating 90 years of Berggren along the way, we look forward to engaging discussions, new connections and strengthening the partnerships that make international trademark protection work in practice.

If you are attending INTA 2026, let’s meet, we will be there: Emilia Hodge, Jukka Palm, Mariella Massaro, Robert Alderson, Paula de Andrés Gómez, Paula Sailas, Marianna Karjanlahti‑Perini and Mari Aulio.

And if you are looking for a partner who combines long‑standing experience with a truly international mindset, we are always happy to continue the conversation in London and beyond.
