Pirta has versatile IP experience and specialized knowledge in applications related to the food and pharmaceutical industries. She assists her clients in protecting their inventions in Finland as well as abroad. For example, she carries out novelty searches and analyses relating to patentability, freedom to operate and scope of protection. As a European Patent Attorney she also participates in opposition and appeal procedures at the EPO. Pirta also participates in handling patent disputes and serves as an expert in legal proceedings related to patent infringement and invalidation. She has increased her expertise in patent law by completing training at Université Strasbourg III and she is authorized to practice before the Unified Patent Court. She also helps our clients effectively utilize their IP assets and draw up IP strategies.
Having worked in the field since 1990, her previous positions include working as a patent engineer in a Finnish pharmaceutical company, a patent expert in an international food company and a patent attorney in a Finnish patent agency.
