Mariella Massaro

Certified Licensing Professional, IP Strategist, International Client Relations

Mariella is a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) and she works on a variety of IP and commercial transactions, supporting clients over the entire development process, from research to market, across multiple jurisdictions. She also coordinates cross-border IP infringement matters. Mariella established Berggren´s Italy Desk, based on her 15 years of prior experience as an IP attorney-at-law in Italy, handling both litigation and transactional matters. She has litigated numerous patent, trade secret, design, copyright, trademark infringement and unfair competition actions for a variety of clients, including those from the pharmaceutical, medical diagnostic, chemical, software, heavy machinery, household and industrial appliances sectors, as well as for iconic Italian companies in the lighting fixtures, fashion, clothing, wine and food industry.

Mariella is a member of Berggren’s International Client Relations team and also collaborates with Berggren’s IP Brokerage team. Mariella has also authored several publications on European IP law and is a frequent speaker at international events and workshops on a variety of IP and Data Protection issues. She is a member of LES USA & Canada, LES Italy and INTA.
