Mika possesses wide-ranging technical expertise as an attorney specializing in various areas of physics. He draws up business-driven patent applications and takes responsibility for the various stages of the patenting process. He also carries out patentability searches and freedom to operate analyses and draws up IP strategies and competitor assessments corresponding to the client’s operations. Mika also assists in patent disputes and represents clients at oral proceedings at the European Patent Office. Mika also serves as an external patent engineer in industrial client companies and works closely with inventors and IP specialists in companies ranging from start-ups to major international corporations.
In 2025, Mika Laajalahti was selected for the IP STARS Patent Star category, an internationally recognized accolade for distinguished intellectual property professionals.
