Vilgailė is enthusiastic about novel technologies and helping others secure their inventions. She can assist clients in various patenting-related tasks, such as novelty searches, preparation of patent applications, and communication with the patent office.
Prior to joining Berggren, Vilgailė has obtained a Master of Physics degree from the University of Oxford, a Ph.D. degree from Lund University in Sweden, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, Finland. During this international research career, Vilgailė has obtained extensive experience in semiconductor devices, epitaxial growth of crystals, design of optoelectronic and thermophotonic devices both on bulk as well as on nanostructure scales. In addition to device design and manufacture, she also has wide experience in various optical characterization techniques.
