Robert Alderson is a Partner at Berggren and is a United States and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. He has worked in intellectual property since 1998, including 14 years in New York as a US patent attorney, including 10 years at an Am Law 100 law firm. He has practised in Europe since 2011.
Robert helps clients bridge US and European IP practice, offering high-value, cost-effective IP services in Europe. His work increasingly involves managing UPC litigation for US clients. With experience in patent litigation on both sides of the Atlantic, he ensures that communication and strategy are aligned and helps clients understand the sometimes subtle differences between the two systems.
His patent prosecution and due diligence work has focused primarily on life sciences, while his litigation experience spans all technology fields. He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a J.D. from the University of Georgia, and is admitted to the United States Patent Bar and the State Bar of Georgia.
