Mika has worked in the IP field since 1997. He helps companies identify, protect and exploit their intangible assets in line with their business objectives.
Mika supports clients in developing IP strategies and practical IP processes, building and developing IP portfolios, and commercialising innovations. His particular areas of expertise include patent sales and licensing, and he also acts as an expert in due diligence and IP valuation projects.
Mika helps companies identify IP-related risks and opportunities connected with their business, and to manage and mitigate those risks through, for example, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses and competitor assessments. He makes extensive use of patent databases and their search tools in his work.
Mika has strong experience in mechanical and equipment engineering, industrial manufacturing and energy technology, as well as ICT, telecommunications, software, electronics and embedded systems. He has also gained broad familiarity with health and wellbeing technologies over the years. Location-based technologies are among his specialist areas. He has worked with SMEs and growth companies, internationally operating companies, and research- and R&D-driven organisations.
Mika is the right person to contact when a company wishes to commercialize its patents, identify and manage patent-related risks, or obtain an expert opinion for, for example, a new financing round or another business purpose. He also supports companies that wish to assess the value of their IP portfolio or develop an IP strategy to support growth and internationalization. In addition, he acts as an EUIPO IP Scan expert for SMEs.
