Jorma has worked in the IPR field since 1999. He helps clients identify, protect and make use of technical innovations that are central to their business. He drafts patent applications and handles their prosecution before patent offices, including oppositions and appeals. Through novelty searches and freedom-to-operate analyses, he assesses the patentability of inventions, the risks posed by competitors’ patents and the conditions for bringing a planned product or method to market. He also prepares infringement analyses and IPR strategies and represents clients in patent litigation.
Jorma has long experience in the IPR matters of small and medium-sized enterprises. His technical expertise covers construction engineering, concrete technology, building physics, mechanical engineering, and mechanical products and equipment. He is also familiar with HVAC, ventilation and heat recovery technology, and cleantech solutions. Before joining Berggren, Jorma held teaching and research positions at a university and has a good understanding of university research.
