Greip™ research and development has found a new path. The latest improvement of the service, a working environment called Greip™ Workspace, intensifies IP work by bringing into it intelligence and advanced communication functions. A patent has been applied for the invention. "Workspace is a significant addition to the service. With it, the entire working culture of an IP team can be developed so that it becomes more interactive," says Heikki Kinnunen, Vice President (Greip™).
Even the most versatile IP tools are information systems where the user can control, forward and analyze data from business point of view. Greip™ service has already long been a competitive solution for these purposes as it can be tailored, personalized and has versatile reporting features.
User interaction generates the most valuable IP information
Greip™ Workspace to be soon launched has grown out of the concept of IP tool.
"It is more like an intelligent IP working environment. Making use of its potential may enrich the working culture of the whole IP team," says Heikki Kinnunen, responsible for the Greip™ R&D.
"We have long known that the most valuable IP information is generated by the interaction between different parties. In Greip™ Workspace it is possible to access such information and to analyze it so that it becomes a seamless part of case and/or family information."
Secure email communication within workspace
In Greip™ Workspace, all choices a user makes and functions he or she uses automatically generate log information.
The log information can be utilized later when searching, analyzing, or outlining the key points of a particular information entity.
"Users can control storing of log information. If a user wishes that a certain piece of information transfers automatically to other information entities in which the same piece of information is relevant, he or she can easily forward the information to them," Kinnunen says. In Workspace, email communication is secure within the working environment.
"Essential information in an email can be found and marked as important with the search function of the Workspace."
Only sky is the limit in using Workspace
Intelligence and communication functionalities facilitate for example patent engineers. There may be dozens of open patent-related deadlines or actions. All information in Workspace is illustrated with clear functions:
"For example the so-called work listing works on “traffic light principle”. It instantly highlights the deadlines of IP projects related to a certain user, in other words it tells “in whose court the ball is”. The user has to take action on those deadlines with a green light," says Solution Owner Katriina Ropponen.
"Only sky is the limit when using Workspace. For example a patent application can be worked on in Workspace so that the inventors and patent engineer have a chance to comment on the application text drafted by a patent attorney in each step. Workspace makes also handling of Office Actions more fluent," Service Manager Jatta Rantala muses.
"A new IP person can join Greip™ Workspace on the fly. The working environment helps with keeping the process going even if things change."
